thunderstorms!!!

Holy Cow! We have been with out power for 9 hours. We had the worst storm I have ever seen this morning. I was woke up at 3:30 am by lighting and thunder. I decided I couldn't go back to sleep so I got up, made coffee, started a load of laundry. Sat down at the computer to check message and ...the whole world went crazy out side. Sounded like a train was ripping through our town. I ran into Brandon's room, grabbed him out of bed, (he's bed is next to a huge window), we sat in our living room and listened to the sound of everything. I heard glass breaking, things going boom, I could hear all the stuff on the porch being thrown about. The one thing that sticks out in my mind is looking out the window and not being able to see anything. The rain was coming down so fast and so hard, mixed in with the hail, It was like looking into a black box. The only time you could see anything was when the lighting struck. The power was out at this point and Brandon had no clue as to what was going on. He was scared, was shaking, he would not let me out of his sight. Kept crying for me. When the wind and rain finally stopped I open the front door to look out. You wouldn't believe the sight before me. Tree's down every where, The lady that lives across the street had a HUGE tree on her car. Smashed it, pieces of the car was thrown all over the place. IT was wild. I ran next door to make sure the lady that lived there was OK, she has a very small baby. All in all everyone was OK. Every one has damage of some sort. All the stuff that was on my front porch was blown off into my car. My car has dents and scratches from it all but it's still drivable thank god. Our roof is another story. It has singles missing from it, 2 huge holes that Keith is out trying to repair now. I'm going to post some pictures of the mess.

I just thank god we all are ok and nothing happened to us.

On Saturday we went to our nephews birthday party. It was at a park, it was like 90 degrees outside, so freakin hot. I was miserable. Couldn't enjoy myself because of the heat. I am not one to do well in the heat. But the party was nice. She has it all done in base ball theme. At the end of the party we let the little ones play in the creek. I got ate up my mosquitoes, but the kids enjoyed it.

As for stitching, I haven't been doing much. A few stitches here and there. I am hating the black fabric, I don't know why I even chose to stitch on it. LOL I always picture the poof hat done on a really dark purple. But I'll keep at it, just because I like it so well. It really pops off the fabric, I just wish it wasn't so hard to see. I'll post a WIP pic of it soon.
HUGS all. Thanks to everyone that leaves me a comment. I just love reading what everyone has to say.

I'm just curious about where you live. It seems there have been storms all over the place including here.

Wow, you certainly had quite a storm, glad everyone is ok. We had heavy rain, but no wind. Keep up your stitching on the black, it is going to be so pretty. I tried once to stitch on black, never finished it.
