2008 christmas

Today's post is going to be all about Christmas! Christmas was a very busy day around here. We woke up around 7am to open presents. Brandon had such a great time tearing his gifts open. I dressed him up in his Santa suit. Here are some pictures of him. We didn't buy him much this year. Seems like he grows out of things so fast. We will be getting him some more things at income tax time. He really liked his cow bowling. Well what he really likes is the ball that makes tons of noise and drives daddy and mommy crazy. LOL Anyways, after opening presents Keith went back to bed. So that left me to clean up the mess in the kitchen. The night before our electric went out. At like 5:30 and didn't come back on in til after I went to bed. So I had all those dishes to do from the baking I did. (yeah..U read right..I did some baking). Let me tell you that dishes from baking are HARD to clean once they sit all night. While we are on the subject of baking...Let me show you a picture of what made for my sisters dinner(actually it was lunch). I made peanut butter fudge and buckeyes. I also made peanut butter pies and chocolate pies but didn't take pictures of those. Anyone that knows me knows how much I HATE to bake, or cook. My thing is eating...lol.

We spent the morning at my sisters (sorry no pictures of this visit) Then we were off for a 2 hour drive to my MIL's. My MIL was sick with the flu, so she spent most of the time on the couch. But we had an awesome time. Keith's sister and brother's family's where there. Everyone got along..didn't feel the tension in the air that I usually feel when the in laws are all together. Here are some pictures of the opening of presents and such.
Before we opened presents I wanted to get some family pictures taken. I sure wish grandma would have waited on those suckers....This is Brandon and his cousin Jadon. They are only a few months apart in age.

This Is Keith (right) his brother mike(left) and his sister Christie(lower).

Here are the boys opening a gift from there Uncle Mike. He got them Leap pads. I went to 2 different walmarts and a Kmart looking for the books and cartridge that goes with this reading system..can't find them. I looked on eBay and have found a few. But most is for grade school children. So I might have to put this up in til he is a little older. And start stocking up on the books and things so he will have them. Very cool gift.

This is my Mother-in-law. She is more than that tho..she is my friend. She is the greatest person ever. Always willing to do for other people. Anyone that knows this lady is blessed. She was ill on Christmas but was still able to have a great dinner cooked and keep the kinds entertained.

This is me of course. My SIL got me this gift. Awesome. I can't wait to write someone a letter and use my new envelopes and stationary. I know I don't look very happy is this photo. But I hate having my picture taken. And I hate my smile, hate my dimples. Grrrrr lol

This is MIL with all her grand baby's. The dork with this Santa hat is Timmy(his dad is Mike..pictured above). He is 16 years old. Much Much older..but still a big baby. LOL He's a great kid..Some one for Brandon to look up to. I hope they get to spend lots of time together when Brandon is older. This is after all the presents are opened and everyone is just chillin and relaxing. Jadon really didn't' want his picture taken, he was getting crabby from not having his evening nap.

This is Christy. My sister. She is really my sister in law but I love her as much if not more than my real sister. She is so much fun to be around. Some times she gets a little crazy and strung out but for the most part is is awesome. She is really diggin her new jeans. A present from her mom. And for some reason I didn't' get a picture of her boyfriend so I will post a picture of him below hers. How did I let that happen??
This is Byran..Christy's boyfriend. I had his name for gift exchange. Well I sorta left his present at home. It was a gift card to walmart. So we just ended up giving him cash in a Christmas card. LOL I felt like such an ass for forgetting it. I'm not sure who got Byran the boxers shorts..but who couldn't use new underpants?

Well that was our Christmas. We ended up staying the night at MIL's house. I really didn't think she needed the extra company being sick and all but she more or less insisted. We had a great evening playing with Brandon's new toys. LOL I don't know who liked them more..Brandon or Keith's.
I spent yesterday taking down the Christmas tree and putting away the Christmas decor. I Love having the tree up in til after the new year but our Christmas tree has seen it's last year. The leg on the stand is cracked and broken. Took it down early before it fell over and broke completely. We did buy a new one at Walmart, the day after Christmas, got it 50% off. Was scared to wait to long after Christmas to get a new one. Was afraid they wouldn't have any of the one we wanted. Anyways Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Hugs to everyone.

mostly ramblings...

Not much to share with you today. Seems like all I've been doing lately is working. I did get the news yesterday that Starting Jan. 4th I get my old hours back. YAY! I never thought I would be so happy about working every weekend. LOL But I am. Having those 3 days off in a row is soooo nice and relaxing. I can't wait.

Last year at Christmas time I stitched a stocking for my nephew Logan. I have had it stuff in a drawer since then waiting for Assembly. Well I took the plunge and did it myself. I have to tell you that I was a nervous wreck the whole time. But in the end it wasn't really that hard. It's not perfect (not like my friend cherlys stockings) but it's together and ready to be used. The next stocking will be much better I hope.

I'm working on a Christmas ornament still. I found a peice of (I think) linen in my stash that someone sent to me. I think it's linen or even weave. It's soooo tiny. The stitches are so small..I think my ornament will be lost on the tree unless I can figure out a way to finish it big but make it look good. I am enjoying stitching on this fabric (what ever it might be). It's a nice change from stitching on Aida all the time. I found a few stocking ornament charts that I am going to stitch up next. I am going to stitch one for my nieces and nephew. (well that's the plan for now).

Here is an update picture on my twins! They have gotten so big since I seen them last. The twins parents have gotten into the grove of caring for 2 baby's. I don't know how they do it, I'd be soo tired and worn out. Dealing with just one about did me in. LOL I do believe that Ava is on the right and Victoria is on the left. Vic. is larger than Ava. That's how I can tell them apart. Aren't they sooo cute.

And of course I have to end this post with a picture of Brandon. While at grandmas she let the boys eat candy while laying in bed!! How scary was that. They had a blast. As did she. The other boy with Brandon is Jadon. Brandon's cousin.

And the winner is....

The winner of the stocking chart is Heather from Brunswick, Canada. You can view her blog at http://heatherstitch.blogspot.com/ . Email me your address Heather so I can get this in the mail to you soon! Congrats to you.

I have no stitching to share with you. I haven't stitched anything since finishing Moonie. I've been hooked on an online stitching game. It has consumed all my free time. And it's a really lame game so I don't know whats got into me. LOL

Since I have no stitching to share I thought I would share a little Christmas story with you. Hope you enjoy it.

A candy maker in Indiana wanted to make a candy that would remind people of the true meaning of Christmas; so he made the candy cane to incorporate several symbols for the birth, ministry, and death of Jesus Christ. He began with a stick of pure white, hard candy. White to symbolize the Virgin Birth and the sinless nature of Jesus, and hard to symbolize the Solid Rock, the foundation of the Church, and the firmness of the promises of God.
The candy maker then shaped his cane into the form of a "J" to represent the precious name of Jesus, who came to the earth as Savior. It could also represent the staff of the "Good Shepherd" with which He reaches down to to reclaim the fallen lambs who, like sheep, have gone astray.
Thinking that the candy was somewhat plain, the candy maker stained it with red stripes. He used three small stripes to show the stripes of the scourging Jesus received. The large red stripe was for the blood shed by Christ on the cross so that we could have the promise of eternal life.

Good bye Moonie...chart giveaway

Good bye Moonie...I can't say that you'll be missed.I am so glad to have her stitched. Only thing I need to have her finished is some star charms. I have a few in my stash but can't seem to find them. Maybe by the time I have her framed I'll have found them. I wish I would have stitched her on darker fabric. I think I might stitch her again some time (not any time soon tho) and not use the glissen gloss and stitch her on black. I think that would look awesome.
I don't really have a lot to say. I've been so busy with work. I hate my new hours, seems like i never have a day off. Going from having 3 days off in a row every week to having one day off really stinks. LOL I've been begging my boss for my old hours back but policy states that I have to wait 90 days. And IF my position is open still I can have it back. So fingers cross that no one applies for it. LOL Also I'm having trouble with a lady I work with. She is so mean and hate full toward me. Tells lies about me to other workers. And I really like this girl..we will call her Stacy. She is always talking about me behind my back. I just wish she would grow up. If she has a problem with me I wish she would just tell me and get it over with. It's tiresome going to work every day dealing with the same old drama. I'm sure our nurse is getting sick of hearing it. Anyways..sorry for going on and on about it.

Today I am having a GIVEAWAY! I have won several giveaways in the last month so I though I would return the favor to someone else. The prize will be this stocking chart (see picture) complete with button and charms. All you have to do is leave a comment telling me you want to be entered into the giveaway. I will draw a name Monday when I get home from work. Good luck all! (for better picture of chart..click on it!!).

I'm off now to stitch on my snowman ornament. Thought I would do something quick and easy for a few days.

I'ts starting to look like christmas

Good morning all! Hope everyone is keeping warm. We sure have been having some very cold weather here in Ohio. Today's post should be a long one with lots of pictures.

First I want to show you an almost finished Moonie. I have mostly back stitching left and a few stray stitches that I didn't do. I can't believe I'm almost finished with her. A little tip for anyone that might stitch her..when ordering your speciality thread..order 2 of them. I ran out of the 1st white glissen gloss thread and I'm about out of the second one If you make any huge mistakes with the green or red glissen gloss then you aren't going to have enough to finish. I would say that this piece has been the most challenging thing I have ever stitched. I LOVE the way she looks tho.

We took Brandon to see Santa clause the other day. As you can see from his face..it didn't go very well. LOL He didn't want anything to do with Santa. So I bribed him with candy. I told him he could have candy if he held Santa's hand. Well He held Santa's hand and the candy in the other. Guess What he was looking at the whole time?

Last night we went to my Niece's (all three of them were in the same musical!) sing Christmas songs. We took Brandon ..and I thought it would be a total nightmare..but it wasn't. He loved it! He even clapped when everyone else was clapping. He didn't cry or fuss the whole hour we sat and watched!

I have our Christmas tree up. IT looks amazing with all the stitched ornaments on it. It's about 70% home made ornaments. I'll take some pictures of the outside of the house some time soon and share those as well. I never knew that decorating a tree with a child was sooo hard to do. Brandon kept hang the ornaments on the same branch. I think at one time he had like 6 ornaments on the same branch. He also about knocked the tree down by pushing on the tree to hang an ornament. We had the neighbor boy (which is also my nephew) come over to help. Man oh Man does that boy ask a million questions. But he is great with Brandon. We had a great time putting on all the decorations.

Now for the last picture. My sister bought Brandon some candy called SixLets. Little balls of chocolate...That fit perfectly up a child nose. Guess what he did! He came out of his room saying "nose" "nose" and laughing. I didn't think anything of it. In til Green slime starting coming out of his nose. I screamed..BOO WHAT HAVE U DONE! I had to get a pair of tweezers to pull the green ball out. Kids...The things he does will have me put in a nut house for sure.

Today Keith and I are going Christmas shopping. Can you believe I haven't' gotten any shopping done yet! Nothing..natta..zip. And like 3 weeks left til Christmas. Wish me luck.

Happy Turkey day....

My Christmas ornament exchange partner has received her ornament from me so I thought I would post a picture of it. Of course I had Brandon hold it for me so I could get a picture of him posted as well. LOL Just wish he was looking at the camera instead of the ornament. I stitched the snowman on perforated paper. I know I didn't spell that right but I think you get the idea.

Thanksgiving in in 2 days so I wanted to post some things I'm thankful for. I keep seeing in the news where people are having a rough time this Christmas season with food, gifts and gas to heat there house. So 1st I am thankful that we have the money to buy what we need. Now I'm not saying we are well off but we do have what we "need". We can't really afford what we "want" right now but we have heat, food and a roof over our heads. 2end I'm thankful for my son's health. I remember the 1st winter he was born, what an awful stress full time it was. Seems we lived at the doctors office. I haven't had to take him to the doctors in a looooong time. 3rd I am thankful for my job, I see lots of people getting laid off, losing there jobs. I work full time in a nursing home and I pretty sure my job is safe. And last but not least I am thankful for my family and friends. If not for them it would make for a boring life.

Now back to stitching...I have been working on my Moon Beam witch. I can see the end in sight. I know lots of you left comments for me to put her down and start something new. I can't do that..I have to finish what I start. I have zero UFO's. I always finish a project before starting a new. If I don't like what I'm stitching I stitch it anyway. I don't know why I'm like this. One main reason is I HATE starting new projects. I hate "kitting" up a project. Trying to figure out what sorta fabric to stitch it on, finding the right size scroll bar to use. I think this is the reason I stitch large projects. I think I'm going to start a HEAD design after Christmas is over. I like the idea of a HUGE project to work on. I just gotta find the right one. Anyways..I'm rambling on and on. Here is a picture of (I call her Moonie) Moonbeam witch.

Something happen to me the other day. I got home from work and Keith told me Brandy called. I asked him Brandy who? He said " I don't know she said to tell you Brandy called." I asked him if she left a number and He said" Nope". So I check the caller ID. (Thank god for caller ID). And her number was on it so I called it. Brandy was my BFF in high school. We did everything together,we lost contact over the years due to our different lifestyles, family's and jobs. But she called me! WE have talked on the phone several times since then and we are thinking about getting together after Christmas to catch up on things. She is still married to her high school sweet heart and has 2 kids. One is named Brandon! Same as mine. How cool is that? LOL

I hope everyone has a great Thanks giving and eats lots and lots of turkey.

Here I am!!

Frist off I want to say how sorry I am for not visiting your blogs and leaving comments. I have been sooo freakin busy this week. Doing what? I have no clue..but every time I've wanted to get on the computer to read blogs something came up. I will try to do better in the coming weeks.

An update on my Moonbeam Witch. I hate her...I really really do. IT's taking all I have to finish her. What I really want to do is toss her in the trash. She is soooo mean. With all that fancy sparkle in her clothes..she has invited the frog to visit every night this week! Grrrrr.... What I really want to do is start some christmas stitching. I have several ornaments calling my name.

I took part in a ornament exchange this year. And I received my ornament in the mail the other day. I love it! And guess what..it's a snowman. I can't show you the ornament I stitched for her..because I was a very bad partner and just mailed it out yesterday. (It was due out Nov.1st) I have no excuse for mailing late..other than I was lazy and didn't want to venture out into the cold weather to the post office. (How lame?)

I've been so busy the last 2 days cleaning house. I mean really cleaning..washing down walls, dusting...cleaning up the clutter I have EVERYWHERE. Next week I get to host the Thanksgiving dinner. The house will be filled with people...screaming kids..But it will be nice to see everyone together again.

I think I will watch a few espoides of Desperate house wives before I start cleaning. I'm almost to the end of season 4..Can't wait to start watching season 5 and catch up to where the show is now. Have a great day and keep warm!

A while back A fellow blogger((
http://orgjunkie.com/)) was giving away the couponizer(http://www.thecouponizer.com/). I didn't win this contest so I took the plunge and ordered it. I am in LOVE. Never has organizing my coupons been so easy! IT is a great investment to someone wanting to use coupons but just not sure how to go about it. Since Keith lost his job a while back I've been trying to figure out ways to cut back on our food budget and coupons is the answer! So ladies that don't use coupons could you send them to me? I'll pay for postage.

Now what you all have been waiting for...an update on Moonbeam witch. Well I don't have a lot of progress to show you. I worked another long weekend. Oh..while on that subject I probably should tell you about a major change that will be taking place soon. I have bidded on a new position at work. My hours now are 4 days a week, every Friday, sat, sun and Monday. (EVER WEEK! no weekends off) Well now I am going to be working 5 days a week, with every other weekend off. BUT..I lose a dollar an hour since I won't be working every weekend. So I think in the end I will still be making the same amount of pay. So we will see how that goes.
Anyways...back to moonbeam witch. She is a pain in the butt..I don't think I will ever take on a project that uses so much blending thread. Some days the stitching goes great and other days the blending thread breaks up on me, gets tangled a lot, and some times I have a heck of a time getting my needle threaded. Here is a picture of her...smug looking, eh?

Welp I'm off to catch up on some blogs. Have a great day!

Home Alone...

I've made great progress on my Moonbeam witch. She is turning out soooo great. I have run out of the white blending thread so I had to order some yesterday. Hopefully the mail man will bring it soon. I know I wrote in my last post that I was going to do some back stitching..sorry to disappoint ya all but I didn't get to it. After I finish this piece I'm going to have to start my Christmas presents. I haven't stitched a single ornament this year and that's not like me at all! I usually have at least a dozen done by now. Before I forget..If any of you would like to receive a Christmas card from me plz send me your address. Send it too glorylady29@gmail.com

Keith and I took down our Halloween decorations the other day. Seems like we didn't have them up very long. Keith wanted to start putting up our Christmas decorations, only because it takes us sooooo long to do it. (we really go all out for Christmas). But for some reason we haven't gotten to it yet. We have been having awesome weather here, 75 degrees..in November! It's very strange. To be wearing light summer clothes when we should be hauling out our winter coats. It makes me think that come January we might be in for some major winter weather.

I spent all day yesterday ALONE! Keith and Brandon went to MIL's for the night on Tuesday. She wanted to keep Brandon over night and needed Keith to do some house repairs. So they both packed up and went to stay. It was so awesome. I sat and watched like 7 episodes of Desperate housewives. (season 3..old reruns). I did some cleaning..stitched..cleaned some more..stitched. Mostly I stitched and watched TV. LOL It was great.

Post edited forgot to post MIL's pumpkin

After I clicked the publish post button I remembered that I wanted to share my MIL's (who I will now refer to as mom) Pumpkin with you all. Mom got this great idea for her pumpkin from someone else. And I just LOVE it. She used the pieces from Mr.Potato head. You know..the kids toy. Brandon just loved it. So guess whats he's getting for Christmas?!? And just think..Brandon can do this himself next year. Put the pieces anywhere he wants to..and no mess!

While at moms house we decide to rake the leaves. Well Brandon in sited on helping..of course. Just look at him. After we raked up a big pile we taught him how to jump in and have lots of fun. We had a blast..who knew playing in scratchie leaves would be so fun. I had to take an extra allergy pill but it was worth it.

I've been boo-ed

I've been boo-ed by http://flowerpebble.blogspot.com/ check out her blog! It's great.

Here are the rules:Go to as many friends as you want and tell them they've been "B00-ed." Have them link back to your blog to pick up their Halloween Treat (picture) and tell them to Boo their friends. Then put the picture in your side bar so everyone knows that you've already been "boo-ed" and to send the picture to someone else.

Also check out this link of giveaways! WOW..I've been looking at blogs all morning
http://www.donttryit.com/bloggy_giveaways/

halloween candy are you?

I thought this was a fun quiz....

You Are Candy Corn

Your Halloween personality is whimsical, colorful, and creative.

You see Halloween as a time to get your creative juices flowing.

Each year, Halloween can't start soon enough for you.

You tend to go all out for Halloween. You decorate like crazy and always dress up.

....Can't think of a title Wed...

Here is an update on my Moonbeam progress. I haven't stitched much the past few days. Not sure why..Just haven't' wanted to stitch. Here is a close up shot..I finally figured out what was wrong with my camera so the pictures are a lot better today. I think today I am going to do some back stitching. I can't wait to see her face come alive. Stitching the moon is going to be a real pain cause it's all stitched with the blending thread. I am liking the blending thread I just don't like using such a short piece of floss. I'm used to looooong pieces of floss so I don't have to thread my needle so many times.

Trick or Treat is tomorrow night. Keith and I have decided to not take Brandon again this year. He's only 2 and I'd have to leave him in the stroller the whole time. And the city I live in doesn't have many sidewalks. So pushing a stroller through the grass doesn't sound like much fun. And another thing We don't' let him eat much candy. I am very concerned about this teeth, I want him to have GREAT teeth when he is older, unlike mine and Keith's. Soooo...We are going to pass out candy instead. Everyone thinks I'm a horrid mother and person for not taking him. Will he really remember that at 2 years old I didn't take him trick or treating?? Will it really make much difference?

Remember me posting about us going to the Rolling Ridge ranch. Well my MIL sent me some pictures that she took in the mail yesterday. Check out this Deer (I forget the name of it). I almost dyed laughing. What could have made him make this face?? LOL Toooo funny.

And here is another picture that I just fell in love with. Jadon and Brandon holding hands walking toward the petting zoo. Too sweet.

I'm off to do my weekly cleaning. Keith is FINALLY pitching in and doing the house work while I'm at work. But I still have to do the toilet cleaning, mopping the floors, dusting..blah blah blah...One step at a time...LOL

Thanks for visiting and posting comments. I love to read what everyone is up to and I try to leave comments as much as I can.
